What kind of 2100 do we want?

Much of that depends on how we handle exponential technologies.

Impact Machine is here to help companies, non-profits and individuals use technology responsibly.

“Artificial intelligence and other exponential technologies are already here. We cannot bury our heads in the sand, whatever we think of them. We need to learn to work with them. The greatest leverage lies with those who create with them and care about the future. I want there to be as many of them as possible.”

Learn to work and create with technology

01

Training and workshops

From short online seminars to hands-on full-day workshops in person at your place.

Topics

  • Competencies for working with AI
  • Vibe coding for non-programmers
  • A business plan on a single page (Lean Canvas)
  • Prototyping and customer interviews
  • Experiments and working with risk
  • Results chain

Track record

Short blocks and whole series for IBM, Seznam.cz and ThyssenKrupp, at CTU and at Metropolitan University Prague. Since 2023 also AI training, among others for LEGO, Metrostav and Dr. Max.

Personal mentoring

One to one or with your company's leadership, on whatever you are dealing with right now. Maybe you just need a partner who is not afraid of it and goes in with you.

When it makes sense

  • A specific task you want to get better at
  • Your own project, from idea to validation
  • A decision about your own role or direction
  • A new technology you want to get your hands on (AI, quantum computing)
  • Your company's AI strategy and rules for using AI responsibly

Where I am the student

I work with AI every day and build my own tools with it. I also study quantum computers (courses from IBM, QWorld, QURECA and CTU's Faculty of Information Technology).

Innovation programs

Your teams either get from an idea to a validated concept, or find out that the idea is not viable.

What the program leaves behind

  • Concepts validated with real customers
  • A team that can run the method itself next time
  • A record of how both the projects and the people moved

Where it has run before

Seven programs and more than twenty runs since 2012, among them the Hornbach Talent Program, The Vodafone Foundation Lab and the accelerator program for Social Impact Award finalists.

Technology

Your external R&D

Exponential technologies give small teams the power that only whole organisations used to have. To use it, you do not need to set up an R&D department of your own. You can delegate your research and development to Impact Machine.

A scenario in Make: a chain of connected steps from fetching the papers through an AI summary to sending an e-mail.
An example of an automation in Make: every morning it collects new scientific papers, AI summarises them and sends them by e‑mail.
  1. Experiments

It can start with a specific problem or with the general question of where a new technology could help you. We then look for the answer together: fast prototypes, short iterations. With every iteration it becomes clearer where it pays to invest.

  2. From experiment to everyday use

Whatever proves itself in prototyping is taken all the way to a tool for everyday work. And the tool gets the care that running it needs: maintenance, testing, security, improvements and the move to new AI models.

  3. Room for bigger ambitions

Tools free up your hands and your mind. That time then goes to developing people, to further experiments and to ambitions there was no capacity for until now. And every new experiment starts a little further on than the one before.

About

Machines do the work, a human decides

Impact Machine is one person, Jan Veselý, and the infrastructure he built himself.

Jan Veselý

Human

Jan Veselý

He guides organisations through the adoption of artificial intelligence and helps people shrink the zone of "I don't know what I don't know". He started in 2000 as a programmer and product manager, and since 2012 he has built innovation and accelerator programs for universities, foundations and companies. At IBM he ran the Smarter University program. He also founded EduFórum, a platform for innovators in education.

Machine

In-house infrastructure

A knowledge base gathered over years of work, its own servers, and artificial intelligence that writes and tests code and works through the source material. A human decides what gets done and when it is finished. That takes an idea to a working prototype in days, not months: the machine brings the speed, the human the judgement.
